Miss Teen Achievement NL Director wins national ACE award
Congratulations to Arlene O'Keefe, a member of the Board of Directors for Miss Teen Achievement Newfoundland and Labrador Incorporated on receiving the Doncaster ACE Team Performance Award. Arlene is Manager of Fund Development with ACE Canada.
Working to fulfill the goal of being one of the best charitable organizations to work for in Canada, ACE created the Doncaster ACE Team Performance Award to recognize staff members who demonstrate a dedication to building a performance-oriented culture.
According to ACE, "Arlene in her "rookie" year with the organization exhibits the key qualities of a performance-oriented culture, including excellence in communication, teamwork, goal setting, preparation, execution and most importantly - driving results. It is young leaders like this who inspire others to be the best they can be."
Big awards for Miss Teen Achievement NL 2009 1st Runner-up Congratulations to Georgina Barbour of Witless Bay on being named 1st Runner-up at the 2010 Miss Teen NL Pageant. Georgina also captured the Miss Teen Talent award.
Former MTA Talented Teen winner lands spot on dance team
![]() Maggie Hynes, winner of the Talented Teen competition for her dancing, at the 2006 Miss Teen Achievement Newfoundland and Labrador Scholarship Program has been selected as one of 12 dancers for the Halifax Rainmen basketball team. Maggie's audition was not simply based on not just based on pure dance ability - the audition was also comprised of on-camera and off camera interviews. The Rainmen dance team are mini celebrities throughout Nova Scotia, volunteering for breast cancer awareness fundraisers and the Canada Winter Games. Maggie is currently studing public relations at Mount St. Vincent University in Halifax, where she is an active volunteer with such events as Shinerama, Wish Day and World Vision's 30-Hour Famine.

Sara is a former Miss Teen Achievement Newfoundland and Labrador finalist and recipient of the Keyin College Community Connections Award - a $17,000 scholarship awarded at Miss Teen Achievement Newfoundland and Labrador 2007.

Kayla Carroll, MTA NL 2009-2010 excels in academics
Congratulations to Kayla, Miss Teen Achievement Newfoundland and Labrador 2009, who is the recipient of a $3,000 scholarship from St.Anthony Basin Resources Inc.(SABRI), a $2,000 bursary from International Grenfell Association (IGA) and a $100 scholarship from Fresh Start Alternative Measures. Kayla has also received a Citizenship Award, a Senior High Advanced Math Award and placed 2nd in her Level III graduating class.

Juliette Dupre - Loran Scholarship Winner
![]() Congratulations to Juliette Dupre of St. Lawrence, Miss Teen Achievement Newfoundland and Labrador 2006, on receiving the 2009 Canadian Merit Foundation's Loran Scholarshp valued at $75,000. This is one of the largest scholarships awarded to Canadian high school students. Juliette will enter university in Fall 2009 to study pre-medicine.
April Drake - Wendy's Restaurants of Canada $5,000 scholarship winner
![]() Congratulations to April Drake of Long Cove ( 2007 Miss Teen Achievement contestant) who competed in a field of 10,000 applicants to be honoured as a Classic Achiever by Wendy's Restaurants of Canada and their Wendy's Classic Achiever Scholarship Awards Program. This program was established by Wendys to recognize Canadian high school students in their graduating year who have worked hard , but have also given back to their communities: individuals who define the term "Classic Achiever". For her efforts, April was presented with a $5,000 scholarship along with a certificate and letter of congratulations from Prime Minister Steven Harper.

World Champion!
Congratulations to Arlene O'Keefe, member of the Board of Directors for Miss Teen Achievement Newfoundland and Labrador Incorporated. Arlene is a member of the SIFE Memorial team from Memorial University's Faculty of Business, which won the gold medal at the SIFE World Cup in Singapore. Some 40 countries competed in this international competition.

Citizen of the Year
![]() Congratulations to Kelly Clarke, Miss Central Avalon Achievement, who was named the Town of Victoria's Citizen of the Year for 2007/08. Kelly was also the recipient of Keyin College Academic Achievement Award ($14,250) at the 2008 Miss Central Avalon Achievement Pageant, as well as the Keeping the Pace Healthy Living Award.
Youth Ambassador ![]() During the Spring of 2008, Maggie Hynes of Dunville became a World Vision Youth Ambassador. In July 2008 she travelled to Tanzania to learn first-hand about development and participate in a Tanzanian–Canadian youth forum. Maggie will spend the next year engaging her peers, sharing what she's learned and encouraging other youth to become global leaders. On the academic side, Maggie is the winner of a $13,500 entrance scholarship to Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax, Nova Scotia where she will be studing public relations. She also won a $5,000 Millenium Scholarship and a $1,000 scholarship from the Ready Mix Association. Congratulations Maggie on your accomplishments - you are indeed a role model for today's youth. Maggie was 2nd Runner-up at the 2006 Miss Teen Achievement Newfoundland and Labrador Scholarship Pageant.

Congratulations to Sabrina Jenkins of Carbonear, Director of the Miss Teen Trinity-Conception Pageant who was crowned the 49th Miss Newfoundland and Labrador at the 2007 Trinity-Conception Fall Fair in Harbour Grace.
Miss Teen Canada Galaxy 2008
![]() Congratulations to Krista Collins of Churchill Falls on being crowned Miss Teen Canada Galaxy 2008. Krista was crowned Miss Teen Labrador Achievement in 2007 and went on to place 1st Runner-up at the 2007 Miss Teen Newfoundland and Labrador Scholarship Pageant. At this event she also received the Provincial Airlines Academic Excellence Award.

In 2007, Kristi was also presented with the Canada Day Youth Award for her many contributions her her community. Congratulations to Julia Hiscock, Miss Teen Achievement Newfoundland and Labrador 2007, on being named Mount Pearl's Youth of the Year. Julia was also winner of the Mount Pearl Youth Speakoff contest. And...her achievements don't stop there. She is also the recipient of the Canadia Merit Foundation's Loran Scholarship valued at $75,000, one of the largest scholarships awarded to high school students in Canada. Among her other achievements, Julia is also the recipient of the Wendy's Classic Achiever Scholarship.
